Planet Arak by Eric DeGiuli

FILES:

Arak.mjw is the full, regular planet.
Arak-simple.mjw is the full planet, WITHOUT the fancy ambient light texture, froth near the shoreline, and intricate coastlines

I haven't actually tested Arak-simple to see if it's any faster, but it should be!

TIPS:

-render at AA3, GD2.5 or thereabouts

-use full shadows only with low lighting, and do tests first to see if it's necessary

-the pyramids ONLY look good near latitude 0, longitude 0. This is because of a simplification that I used in constructing the 2D coordinates that the pyramids are based on.

-your renders will in _almost all cases_ need some contrast adjustment in post! there is no way around this, and it's a good opportunity to learn this kind of skill if you don't have it already.

SLIDERS:

the sliders included control: sunlight intensity and colour, displacements on the sand dunes (the ones that can cause Moire patterns), and the moon size.

Enjoy!
