WELCOME TO THE MOJOWORLD CHALLENGE 80 AT 3DCOMMUNE

SLAG

PRESENTED BY THE PANDROMEDA HYPERSPACE EXPLORATION CORP + SUNMONKEY DESIGN

SLAG was first photometrically surveyed in the fall of 2077 by the scientific research dreadnought SS Lawrence-Livermore, third fleet, PHEC. While no crew touched down on its surface, complete mapping [electromagnetic, visual, UV, and CagNon Rad.] revealed a host of features that intrigued and baffled research crews.

Features of special interest:

>>> The large looping black bands were thought to be obsidian. This proved to be incorrect. These bands are micro-thin ferrous oxides, conducting low-level currents from an unknown source. They are believed to have been constructed (i.e. not occurring naturally). The are transmitting at a frequency of 1420 Mhz. These transmitting bands are to be found over the entire planetary surface effectively making this planet, for all intents and purposes, a giant transmitting radio beacon.

What the message may be is yet undetermined.

>>> The single moon of Slag is not a true moon at all but a large asteroid momentarily caught in Slag's gravitational field. Analysis indicates it will swing free in another 204 years. After completing 8 orbits of the system's sun, the asteroid will return to Slag in 311 years, in what we theorize (given current physics models) to be a cataclysmic event ending in the destruction of both bodies. [NOTE: Ref 6-SL-M-event]

>>> The liquid dotting the pools found over the body of Slag is extremely base. Caution should be exercised when wading in or around these pools. The liquid should be kept from the eyes and soft tissues. The liquid is very slippery. [NOTE: Ref 14-SL-Liq-Caut.]

Sliders should be fully explored. We feel that they are self-explanatory, and if not, should be played with mercilessly. PHEC crews fear that they are not all too exciting, and hopes to fix that in the future. Admittedly, this is the first planet that I have put together in which I finally felt like I was doing things on purpose, rather than effective random happy occurrences. From here on out, things should get better.

To those about to explore we salute you!

PHEC

WARNING: WARNING: WARNING:
All my attempts at deleting the two entries in the camera "Cruiser" and "Stature Rock" end up in a crash of Mojo. Do not attempt to delete these entries! Or do so with my blessing but don't get angry if it doesn't work. Hmmm... now it seems that you cannot delete J11. That is a new one on me. Sigh.
