IBM Navigator Pro Information and Software

The Navigator Pro mice were released in 2002 and promptly discontinued in 2003. They were sold retail and also paired with similarly coloured NetVista computers which either had sparkly blue or red paint.

Navigator Pro Colours

The Navigator Pros came in two colours, the same 'Slate Blue' as earlier ScrollPoints and a unique Merlot which was also present on a non-pro Optical mouse as well. There was an earlier edition of the mouse called the 'Cyber Scroll Mouse' which only came in a silver colour and had a ball instead of being exclusively optical. This is reflected in sharing a very similar part number with the Slate Blue Navigator Pro.

31P8203 (merlot | optical)
19K2002 (slate blue | optical)
19K2004 (silver | ball)

The slate blue version of the Navigator Pro has a translucent wheel that glows blue, whereas it glows red on the merlot version--in similar vein to the glowing ScrollPoint mice. With the Cyber Scroll it's just a static black wheel with no lighting, similar to the Antique Sage ScrollPoint Pro.

Micro Innovations was contracted to manufacture the mice on behalf of IBM, along with producing the driver. Typically the Micro Innovation name is concealed for most mice and simply replaced with 'manufactured for IBM', but in this case it was not. Lenovo continues to contract to Micro Innovations on having drivers produced on their behalf--in particular the Lenovo/IBM 'Mouse Suite'.
